| Hot Shots Chronicles Basic set: No such thing 34 packs per box 10 cards to a pack Chase Cards: 1--- Monica Hajkova 9 card subset 2---Heidi Lynn autograph (recycled from Penthouse Returns) 3---Lydia Schoene autograph Notes: Hot Shots Chronicles was a special edition released in late 1997 as a method of disposal of broken and remainder card sets in Hot Shots stock. Originally packed and marketed as a special offer to Card World Distributing, later other boxes were released directly to the Collectors Club at reduced prices. Many, many chase cards and common cards were inserted in Chronicles boxes. There were no promotional cards issued. It was possible to find any type of card Hot Shots produced in Chronicles boxes, from autographs to chase cards and Collectors Club cards. It was not possible to make complete sets of most common sets from Chronicles boxes. Chronicles boxes proved an good sources of some binder and other cards with relatively rare dealer, prototype and variation cards. Insertion ratios on these cards appear to be low. Because of the number of chase cards released in Chronicles, particularly for Queen of Hearts and Penthouse Returns editions, the market price of these cards dropped severely. The only new cards released in Chronicles boxes was the Monica Hajkova nine card subset. The autographed cards were also offered to collectors clubs and dealers as separate items. Long after Chronicles release I purchased a large amount of cards pulled from Chronicles sets, the information above is taken from that purchase. Boxes I have opened tend to be very heavy in Knights or Emperors Club cards. |
