Lurkers: Log in and see more content

For all of you that have not yet signed up for The Trading Card Museum, or do not always log on when visiting the site, did you know that there are forums that you cannot see (not 100% sure about that one) or read until you are signed on?

There are some member only forums and you have to be logged on to show you are a member...

So, sign in today, and enjoy the "rest" of the Museum.

We will have to start providing incentive packages huh Mike? Hey, I'm happy people are lurking, we're all still spending time together and building and learning. People I think will get more involved as time goes and the other areas begin to expand. It's like waiting for Christmas Mike, keeps you giddy with anticipation

Well, we are looking at the 1st come 1st served again soon, and we've been thinking about angles for the mystery auctions. Plus maybe we need to make some of the areas of the site for logged in members only? What do you think?

I'm thinking alot of those guests are actually members. I come in and look here 2 or 3 times a day, and even though I hit the "remember me" button, it usually doesn't recognize me as a member, so I usually don't sign in unless I want to make a post or some threads that are only open to members, like the thread about the young girl that paints the religious art.

Don, I do agree with you that a lot of the guests are members that are not signed in at the time of their visit. I too am guilty of that. I have my settings in Internet Explorer set to delete all cookies, temporary files, etc whenever I exit IE, so when I do come back, I need to log back in, but do not always do so.

Joey, it might be worth considering, but I do think we should think on that a bit....

I am looking into the back end to see if there is anything that gives us more control to allow you to be kept logged in longer if you want to.

Mike, we were thinking about the Lounge areas in each of the main genre forums. Maybe users should be logged into them to interact or involve themselves in the lounge areas. The main areas for reference and information I think should remain open to the public for use/viewing whether a users is logged in or not.

We have some interesting ideas on the 1st come 1st serve and the new approach to auction giveaways. We will be setting up a moderator's forum of sort where we can all discuss more of the behind the scenes stuff together.

I was thinking about the same thing with the lounges, and keeping the reference parts open to the public. I just wanted to sleep on what I was thinking..

A mod forum would be great!
